This camera takes excellent pictures. The zoom is great.
The only thing I was disappointed in was: I took the camera to my moms 92nd birthday party and after only 8 pictues it said the memory was full. Must be an awfully small card that comes with it..

Was looking for a multi use camera that combined a powerful zoom with quality picture. It arrived 2 days before the birth of my first grandchild. I was the designated photographer and breathing coach. The camera took excellent pictures in various light conditions in the delivery room. The pictures captured the birth experience for a lifetime and that is priceless. The image stabilzation feature is an added bonus, I have Parkinson's and my tremors did not impact the cameras ability to maintain picture quality. This camera is a real value considering the many features built into it. I am looking forward to exploring all of it's features in the coming weeks and anticipate a wonderful photography experience.

I love the Olympus Sp590. The kit came with most everything you need to start. It has soo many features for the semi beginner that it is easy to take quality pictures. I would buy this series from olympus again.
